You may want to come back to check out an exhibition by an artist named Cat Chow, who makes dresses out of everything from zippers to thread bobbins. It is running until March 5th, 2006. We hope you can make it out here sometime to see it - check out our website at http://www.cincinnatiartmuseum.org/greatart/exhibitions_catchow.shtml
for more information.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13108430.post-1132019399668631462005-11-14T20:49:00.000-05:002005-11-14T20:49:00.000-05:00WW: The test tube theory is feasible...scary ain't...WW: The test tube theory is feasible...scary ain't it. I actually have your number. I'll call... or check w/ Rob and call me. He has my number.

Chrys: Do you know what painting that came from?

Joshua: Happy Belated Birthday!! Salvador Dali is one of my favorites... Surrealism is wonderful... I loved his paintings of Christ on the crucifix... powerful. Pablo Picasso, I must admit, not a huge fan of Cubism but I like a lot his early work when he was coming to age and his sculptures. Besides--- despite what many will say... there are no rules... it's what YOU like..

Alright... it's a new week, I just got home from work... and I need to get some more crap done for tomorrow.

-CCathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08194664564866385067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13108430.post-1131899828428320212005-11-13T11:37:00.000-05:002005-11-13T11:37:00.000-05:00I wish I could say that the jersey I'm wearing on ...I wish I could say that the jersey I'm wearing on your map is a work of art because it is to me! (Wife got it for my b-day a few weeks ago)

As much of a jock, geek, rightwing nutjob as I may come across, I absolutely love art that stirs the soul.

My father had several obscure Picasso's around the house as well as a Salvador Dali coffee table book that I used to dive into every weekend when I visited him.

I can't claim to know much about art or be able to conduct myself correctly in a museum with the face contortions and such, but I know how to recognize an investment of passion and emotion into an object such that it jumps at you and takes ahold of your core being. There's almost something psychic in art when that much painstaking consciousness is focused on one piece of canvas for so long with the intent to convey a feeling. (and you thought I couldn't talk about feelings!)

Awesome post Cathy... Keep up the good work!Peakahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08328805212399976786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13108430.post-1131894113874023332005-11-13T10:01:00.000-05:002005-11-13T10:01:00.000-05:00Thanks for the ART stops! Noticed that the video I posted from storage had a "Tacky" URL listing at the bottom. Don't work too hard this week - grab some smiles! Posted an "artsy" picture in your Frappr - in keeping with your post!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
