Wednesday at the Movies, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

This is a musical that instantly makes me think of spring...I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this one. Me? I love it! Howard Keel--- a manly man with the best voice ever... and the dancing... well... let me tell you... this is manly masculine dancing... no metrosexuals in this crowd...

Oh... and for you Batman fans (the 60's television series starring Adam West), you might recognize Julie Newmar- Catwoman...

And all those wonderful Johnny Mercer songs...

Bless Your Beautiful Hide
Sobbin Women...
When You're in Love
Spring Spring Spring
and Michael doesn't know this... and if he doesn't read this post... he will continue to not know this.. but the song June Bride is the reason I wanted to get married in June...

This movie is about spring... watch it! Watch it for the music, watch it for the choreography, set design, costuming... did I mention music? Watch it because it is a wonderful happy escape!

The best ever!!!

I used to long to see this as a kid, could only see it on very rare occasions in a "revival" theater or on late-night TV. Sometimes I still can't believe I can put in a DVD and watch it any ol' time I want! :) :)

"June Bride" and "Wonderful Day" were played by the organist when the guests were being seated before our wedding!

Happy spring!
